Our wandering took us to the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. We decided to ride the portion that goes into Acton today. It is a wooded trail which is really nice when the weather is a little sticky. The trail goes by some nice scenic areas where you hear lots of wild life. Many very loud bullfrogs can startle you if you are not careful!

Look at all the water lillies! |
One place we stopped was at the plaque for a pencil factory that used to reside near the trail.

There had been a lot of rain the past few days so the brooks were running pretty fast and the birds were very vocal, greeting us loudly along our ride.

Lots of bird activity in this tree |
This is the beginning of the trail in Acton and there is construction going on now to continue the trail over Route 2 into Concord. We are hoping it won't take much longer for it to be completed. The date for it to be completed is slated for Fall of 2021. Fingers crossed!

We turn around when we reach this point. It is located near a sports facility that our sons used to go to for summer camp when they were in middle school.
